MRT at 70
Today is a monumental day for MRT Castings as we hit the big seven-oh.
On the 27th February 1947, as the country recovered from the cataclysmic events of World War II, Percy Rawnson and Chris Morris incorporated MRT Castings Ltd.
Originally founded in Bromley, the business moved to Peckham in 1954 before finally settling in its current home of Andover in 1966.
Throughout the past 70 years, MRT has evolved to offer a wider range of value adding services, and apply the latest developments in the industry. We’ve come a long way from those humble post-war roots, and have grown to become one of the UK’s most respected diecasting and CNC machining specialists.
The business now occupies 30,000 square foot of manufacturing space and empoys 55 people, operating some of the most advanced casting and CNC technology available.
In the pursuit of excellence, MRT became the recipient of a number of awards, the most prestigious of which is the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade, 2016.This honour was granted to MRT for an increase in exports of over 330% in just 3 years.
Despite MRT’s success and growth it still remains a family run business, owned and managed by the second and third generations of the Rawnson family.
